The Hurst Bowls & Beer Festival

Hurstpierpoint Bowling Club organise an annual Bowls and Beer event at the bowling green, South Avenue, BN6 9QB. This is  usually on Sunday sometime between July and September.

​The idea of the tournament is to encourage people who have not bowled before to come along with friends, family and have a game of lawn bowls.

​The event starts at 11am and finishes round about 5pm. On arrival teams are given a set of bowls, simple instructions on how to play and time to practice. Trainers or flat soled shoes must be worn.

 The playing format is a team of 3 but you can substitute players for each game, for example, a family of four can play any 3 members for each game. Children are welcome to play but must be over 12 and accompanied by an adult.

​Experienced club members are on the green to give help/guidance to teams, if they need it, and to umpire the matches.

​There are breaks between games which allows time to purchase beers, wines, tea, coffee, soft drinks from the bar and food from the barbeque.

The 2024 event was held on 28th July which was won by  ThirstBeerPinters and the runners up were Hop Tub Allstars.
